In 1904, ATF introduced a modernized version called ‘Cloister Black’ (or ‘Cloister Text’), designed by Joseph W. Phinney or Morris F. Benton.

Bradley Roman

A special casting was made for the book, published in Oct 1906 by Dodd, Mead & Company. Thus, they were later known as the ‘Peter Poodle’ types.
